Our partnership supports the economic growth and prosperity of Greater Lincolnshire by preparing individuals for work and supporting their development and progression within employment. We aim to support Greater Lincolnshire as a great place to learn, work, recruit, invest and innovate in the engineering and manufacturing, digital, and construction sectors.
Lincolnshire Institute of Technology (LIoT) is a partnership between the University of Lincoln, North Lindsey College and University Campus North Lincolnshire, University Centre Grimsby, Boston College, Grantham College and University Centre, Lincoln College, Riseholme College and Lincoln UTC.
Founded over four years ago the partnership has built on its existing provision and strong employer relationships to continue to develop and deliver training and qualifications that meet regional needs.
Institutes of Technology have been established by the Department of Education as leaders in the provision of high-quality, higher-level technical education and training across a range of STEM occupations and industries.
For Individuals
For individuals in our region, LIoT offers access from level 3 to level 6 opportunities to prepare for work, re-enter the labour market, and to develop throughout their career with a strong focus on careers guidance and tailored programmes ensuring their education journey supports individual circumstances.
For Employers
LIoT partners with employers to deliver broad support including high quality apprenticeships and higher-level qualifications as well as bespoke training. With strong employer relationships across sectors, including businesses such as Bakkavor, Quickline Communications and United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust, LIoT has industry experienced professionals delivering training and education that meets local business needs.

What training does LIOT offer?
We specialise in manufacturing and engineering including motor vehicle and agritech, construction and digital training and education. Whether seeking an apprenticeship for existing staff or to recruit new staff; looking to upskill existing staff - to retrain, multi-skill or to support progression; or to develop higher level skills to support the sustainability and growth of the organisation; LIoT works with employers across the region to deliver high quality apprenticeships, higher level qualifications and education, and training bespoke to employers and job roles. What makes an Institute of Technology different?
IoTs are collaborations between further education (FE) providers, universities and employers. We specialise in delivering higher technical education in subjects, such as engineering and digital. IoTs focus on the specific technical skills needs required in their area. They work in partnership will employers and provide them with a skilled workforce whilst also giving students with a clear route to technical employment.
