CORE EMPLOYERS

The Lincolnshire Institute of Technology (LIoT) is supported by over 200 employers who use the education and training facilities equipment and expertise of our partners staff to train, upskill, multiskill and reskill new and existing staff. This may be through short courses, education qualifications, industry qualifications or apprenticeships.

Bakkavor, OAL, and Siemens Energy were the core employers who supported the original LIoT bid with the Department of Education and who partner with our providers to use LIoT to train their managers and staff.

Our educational partners work with over 3000 employers across the key sectors in the region. Within the LIoT the focus is on manufacturing and engineering including agritech and motor vehicle, construction and civil engineering, and the digital sector. This partnership working ensures that our offer meets local and regional employers needs and we are always keen to engage new employers.
Employers are key to the success of LIoT; through providing work experience, real projects for students to undertake, research opportunities, site visits and also coming in to offer mock interviews, industry talks and help train students. Engaging with our education partners helps ensure we develop students with the technical skills and knowledge and employability attributes that employers need in our region.
