Working together results in the best outcomes, and that is why the Lincolnshire Institute of Technology is so proud of the relationship it has with its core employment and education partners.
We work with over 200 employers to deliver training and education that addresses local needs for businesses, and these employers can then use this to upskill both new and existing staff members.
Of those, United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals (ULTH) is one of three organisations to sit on the Lincolnshire Institute of Technology’s board.
About ULTH
ULTH offers acute hospital care across Lincolnshire, serving a population of over 760,000 people. The Trust covers four hospitals in the county - Lincoln County Hospital, Grantham and District Hospital, Pilgrim Hospital Boston and County Hospital Louth.
ULTH is part of the Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG), alongside the Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS), which was set up to improve patient outcomes across the county.
With ULTH offering acute hospital care and LCHS serving as the primary community care provider in Lincolnshire, the pair joining forces only serves to strengthen Lincolnshire’s health service offer.
A single board and executive leadership team at LCHG means that ULTH and LCHS can work closely together to improve the quality of care for the people of Lincolnshire, both in and out of hospital.
Benefits of closer working include improved performance, streamlined care pathways for patients and better opportunities for colleagues who are able to work across a wider range of services.
ULTH’s work with the Lincolnshire Institute of Technology
Science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) are critical skills for healthcare services. From maintenance to medicine, ULTH will always need a talented workforce that includes STEM-qualified professionals.
Across the country, the NHS is facing recruitment and retention issues due to a nationwide STEM skills shortage, which impacts all aspects of healthcare. We are proud to be working with ULTH to upskill the county, training people in the skills our NHS organisations need now and in the future.
Upskilling new and current staff members creates better provision for careers in the health sector and ultimately contributes to a better health service for everyone in Lincolnshire and beyond.
