Formed in 2019, Lincolnshire Institute of Technology (LIoT) is a partnership between eight educational institutions across the county. 
 
Our partnership supports the economic growth of Greater Lincolnshire by preparing individuals for work and supporting their development within employment. 
 
We thought we’d tell you a little more about each one of our fantastic partners and what they have to offer. 
University of Lincoln 
 
The University of Lincoln’s National Centre for Food Manufacturing (NCFM) is a specialist apprenticeship provider, dedicated to helping food industry employees advance their careers. 
 
It offers apprenticeships and distance learning to allow people to study whilst working and balancing personal commitments. This allows people to develop their talent and skills, driving exciting industries and enabling a dynamic, technology-driven economy. 
 
The NCFM’s campus includes an Innovation Centre with labs, test kitchen, sensory suite, teaching rooms and a Digital Food Manufacturing Technologies Centre. 
 
University Campus North Lincolnshire (UCNL) and North Lindsey College - part of DN Colleges Group 
 
UCNL and North Lindsey College are part of DN Colleges Group - a major education provider in South Yorkshire, Greater Lincolnshire and the Humber region. 
 
Both education providers cover Further Education (FE), Higher Education (HE), apprenticeships and Adult Skills, including full-time and part-time training opportunities. 
 
UCNL’s purpose-built engineering laboratories house a wide range of industry-standard training equipment including pneumatics, mechatronics and robotics. Its facilities and subject areas also support students to develop their knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI), big data and analytics, cybersecurity and augmented reality. 
 
North Lindsey College’s multi-million pound Engineering Technology Centre is home to electrical and mechanical facilities, alongside fabrication and welding workshops, and CAD suites and classrooms. 
 
University Centre Grimsby 
 
University Centre Grimsby is home to state-of-the-art facilities including IT Design Studios, Digital Arts Labs, Cyber IT Labs, Multi-use IT and Engineering Robotics. 
 
Its Institute of Technology (IoT) programmes specialise in delivering higher technical university-level education at Levels 4 and 5, with a focus on STEM subjects such as engineering, digital and construction. 
 
Its IoT programmes focus on the specific technical skills required to bridge the skills gap in its local area, helping to provide local employers with a skilled workforce. 
 
Boston College 
 
Boston College offers courses in 35 different course areas including full-time, part-time, Higher Education, apprenticeships and distance learning. Its IoT facilities offer four different engineering courses ranging from Level 3 to Level 5. 
 
The IoT offers hydraulics and pneumatics training equipment, an electronic and robotics room, a university-level seminar room and a graphics and digital technology suite. 
 
The college’s Engineering, Manufacturing and Technology Centre (EMAT) also includes facilities such as an innovation hub, engineering workshops, electronics workshops, an electronics laboratory and a CAD suite. 
 
Grantham College and University Centre 
 
Grantham College and University Centre has a state-of-the-art Engineering and Digital Skills Hub which is equipped with IT design studios, digital technology suites and engineering robotics facilities. 
 
It offers a range of courses from apprenticeships and NVQs in the workplace, to short distance learning and digital bootcamps. Course subjects include Artificial Intelligence (AI), Digital Marketing and Cyber Security. 
 
Through these courses, Grantham College and University Centre brings students and employers together to deliver higher technical education. Its focus is on giving students the technical skills that businesses need, helping them to prosper and leading to better local jobs. 
 
Lincoln College 
 
Lincoln College has a range of Level 4, 5 and 6 courses covering four IoT pathways - Automotive Electric/Hybrid, Digital Technologies, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, and Construction and Civil Engineering. 
 
Its facilities have been designed to replicate the latest progressive working environments and its workshops and classrooms are equipped with the latest IT hardware, as well as computing, electrical engineering and automotive engineering equipment. 
 
All its IoT courses are designed to be practical, engaging and motivating, to support learners of all ages to gain the advanced knowledge and skills required by local employers. 
 
Riseholme College 
 
Riseholme College is a specialist education provider which serves the regional and national demand for technical skills in subjects such as Agriculture, Land-based Engineering, Horticulture, Animal Management and Equine. 
 
Its provision includes Further Education and Higher Education courses, as well as apprenticeships and short courses designed to upskill the agricultural workforce. 
 
The college has a purpose-built Centre for Agri-Food Technology training facility which includes classrooms, dedicated workspaces and precision farming technologies. This allows students to experience the very latest technologies designed to transform food production by improving productivity and reducing environmental impact. 
 
Lincoln UTC 
 
Lincoln UTC is a specialist science and engineering college offering Level 2 and 3 courses. In the sixth form, students can either follow an A-level science pathway or focus solely on engineering. 
 
Its workshops are equipped with a full range of traditional machinery, including lathes, milling machines and welding equipment. This is complemented by state-of-the-art CNC machining, plasma and laser cutting and multi-material additive manufacturing. 
 
Lincoln UTC offers BTEC and T-Level engineering courses where 80% of learning takes place in the classroom and 20% is in the workplace - spending one day a week working with a local industry partner.
